Personal satisfaction is one of the most important aspects for me. It's important to me that I am satisfied with my work, and also whether people can read the messages and the intentions in my artwork. I ask myself if I am satisfied with my work or not, and think about whether or not I am creating something that I love.
개인의 만족이 제일 큰 것 같아요. 제가 만족 할 수 잇나 없나가 제일 큰 것 같고, 그리고 이제 원하는 의도를 그림을 봐주시는 분들이 파악을 할수 있나 없나도 저한테 중요한 것 같아요. 성공의 기준은 제가 만족하냐 안 하냐 이게 큰 것 같아요. 제가 좋아하는 걸 만들었냐 그게 제일 큰 것 같습니다.
Through my art, I want the audience to experience something that they have never felt, but still is familiar. In a way I want to evoke paradox and empathy through my paintings. Delivering images that are negative but positive, complex but simple, and dream-like.
대중들에게 전달하고 싶은 메세지는 머리속에 상상만 하고 있던 그런 영상 장면들을 끄집어내어 공감을 유도하는 작업을 통해 익숙하지만 한번도 본적이 없는 것, 그런 역설적인 느낌들을 전달 하고 싶어요. 약간 불안전한 기억, 꿈, 말이 안되면서도 말이 되는, 부정적인 것과 긍정적인 이미지가 혼재하는 장면들을 전달하고 싶은 것 같아요.
I want the public to see my painting and say “I recognize this image”. I want to trigger people’s visual memories through my paintings. My ultimate goal is to continue making work that I enjoy, and to show people what I love to create in the purest way.
누군가가 지나가면서 제 작품을 봤을때 “나 이 그림 알아” 라고 말하는 것 처럼, 기억 깊숙히 자리하는, 대중들에게 시각적인 기억을 심어주고 싶어요. 저 자체 보다는 그림을 통해서요. 약간 계속 비슷한 말일지도 모르겠지만, 스스로가 좀 계속 좋아하는 작업들을 계속 이어 나가는 것이 큰 목표이고오, 그리고 그거를 조금 더 많은 분들에게 나가 이런걸 좋아한다, 순수하고 자유롭게 알리고 싶은 그런 일들을 많이 하고 싶어요.
